The return of “Glee”
Hate it or love it, “Glee” will be back this year as the second season kicks off in September. The unlikely success the show has enjoyed has put a lot of pressure on the writers and expectations are high for its return later this year.
The show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, said that there would be a few changes in the next season. Tribute episodes will not play a big part of the season and he said that they would be limited to 2 or 3 episodes. Britney Spears is expected to be the focus of one of those episodes while an unnamed “big” star is the focus of another. According to the rumors, that episode will be a tribute to the King of Pop – Michael Jackson. “Britain’s Got Talent” winner Susan Boyle will guest star in an episode. She is rumored to appear in a Christmas or Christmas themed episode in December.
Minor characters from season one will get more screen time as the show wants to create more depth in the storyline. The characters of Santana, Brittany and Tina as well as Kurt’s dad have been named as definite character expansions. More artists have also freed up their catalogues to the show ensuring that a wide variety of songs will grace the show. Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney is a big fan of the show and has even written to Murphy suggesting some songs that could be included in the next season.
